Anyone here had a cataract operation?. I have been told no its probably not your tinted glasses that I  complain about, its probably your cataracts , go make an appointment with an eye man and see what he says, before you decide to do away with the tinted glasses.

I say I can see better over the top of my glasses than with them on, how can that be my cataracts? its the tinting I say, But the optometrists insist the  tinted glasses are not to blame  and say its best not to do away with the tints [ Got these  new glasses in February]

Mmmm I am not sure what to do , anyone  here been through this dilemma?

betty I know folk who have had their cataracts ‘done’ and it has been highly successful.
May I suggest that you speak with your GP and get his opinion – he can refer you to a specialist for further eye examining.
The folk I know had no issues whatsoever with their ‘recovery’ and were pleased to be able to toss their reading glasses aside!!

Betty I have had two Cataract extractions, it is no big deal now. Your GP will refer you to an Eye Specialist. Some surgeons like you to be admitted overnight after surgery, so they are able examine your eye next morning, others just ask you to have an early a m appointment. Usually 3 weeks after the Op.,you’ll be able get new Glasses.

Betty; I have just had my right eye done. Nothing to it!

Get a referral to an eye specialist & he will tell you if it is necessary

to have the lens replaced. I had mine done at day surgery, went home then back to the specialist the next day to have the cover removed.

I had to wear sunnies when outside for a week or two.

Thanks everyone ,I certainly will now look into a referral just to check if its the glasses or my cataracts playing  up.

I was still in my 60’s when mine were removed – because they were central and caused double vision. Best vision ever since then and marvellous 3D which I had not realised that I had lost!

Hullo Rachael, would you believe ,No I haven’t as yet managed to see my Dr  re a  referral we seem to be going through a stage of being incredibly busy and he does not attend on Fridays when I seem to be free.I also haven’t manged to get a flu injection either as yet , I was supposed  to see him when my nasty cough had gone  , but somehow the weeks just fly by and I don’t  manage to fit in seeing him as yet

Bettyh your fluvax is important so best to get that done first then aort out your eyes.
I know what you mean about time flying by so fast.
I often say that if I wrote down on paper what I have done during the day it would probably be three or four lines but it has taken me the whole day to get things done.
