In Melbourne a tree toppled over in a well known area and landed on a young lady walking by, she was a lovely lady a well known lecturer at the university. It was a dreadful accident and resulted in her death.
I wont go into details but as she had young children, its an appalling accident one can only feel for her family and the despair they must be feeling.
As you say Betty, a terrible tragedy.
Her passing would leave a big gap amongst her family and friends.
Only time will be able to heal that.
I think one feels most for those left behind.
I hope they realise they are not alone with their grief.
I did read somewhere that one of the legal firms (I think) was calling for older trees in public places to be examined for stability.
One can only hope a lesson will be learned, and there will be less chance of such a tragedy being repeated.
It does seem somewhat unfair that a life must be lost to make the public aware of these potential dangers.
