I don’t know  the situation in other states but here in Melbourne the traffic is appalling and in several suburbs  we are sure the traffic lights have had a change  of settings  re how long they stay on RED, one gets to the stage of swearing and saying for  heavens sake,  come on  change ,meanwhile the traffic piles  up, hurray- they change at last down goes the foot and away the cars roar, way over the speed limit.

Its got to the stage where many people don’t enjoy driving anywhere at all, including us and we used to drive all over the place once .

So pleased not to live in or go to Perth anymore. Traffic numbers are horrendous there though have to say the road system is quite good.
Oh joy! Down here there are no traffic lights including Albany where there are plenty of roundabouts. One at the entry to Albany with multiple exits is very challenging to visitors and to people who cannot understand road signs or roundabout rules!
