That vexing question

    When I was young I read many comic books.
    The villains were often KO’d (knocked out) by the hero or heroine.
    KO’s were quite frequent in fact.
    ***Pow***  ***Crash*** etc.
    I also saw the abbreviation OK used.
    I don’t remember if someone told me, or I deduced it for myself, but I had the idea that OK was the opposite of KO.
    The letters are reversed, so so is the meaning.
    KO is stopped, defeated, failed…
    Conversely, OK is successful, agreeable, satisfying…
    I have seen many explanations bandied about, but this one to me is the most convincing.
    It is OK if you wish to deliver a KO to this idea.
